The category ranked 722 through July among the roughly 1,265 export commodity groupings as classified by Census. It ranked No. 712 for the last full year with a total value of $106.96 million, a $18.4 million, 20.78 percent increase from the 2017 total.

Through July of this year the top trade partners were No. 1 Chile, No. 2 Vietnam, No. 3 China, No. 4 Bangladesh and No. 5 Indonesia. The leading gateways were No. 1 Port of Los Angeles, No. 2 Port of Long Beach, No. 3 Port of Virginia, No. 4 Port of Charleston and No. 5 Port of New Orleans.

In the last previous full year, the top trade partners were No. 1 China, No. 2 Indonesia, No. 3 Bangladesh, No. 4 Chile and No. 5 Vietnam.   • Port of New Orleans fell 7.05 percent compared to last year to $3.98 million.

Highlights for the top five foreign markets:

  • U.S. exports to No. 1 Chile increased $4.45 million, 60.67 percent, (19.11 percent of all shipments).
  • U.S. exports to No. 2 Vietnam increased $2.49 million, 34.62 percent, (15.71 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports to No. 3 China decreased $9.81 million, 51.7 percent, (14.85 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports to No. 4 Bangladesh increased $1.1 million, 13.85 percent, (14.6 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports to No. 5 Indonesia decreased $2.59 million, 23.04 percent, (14.03 percent of all shipments).
