U.S. exports of Bread, pastry, cakes increased 3.59 percent from $1.91 billion to $1.98 billion in 2018 when compared to the same period the previous year, according to WorldCity analysis of the latest U.S. Census Bureau data.

The category ranked 148 through December among the roughly 1,265 export commodity groupings as classified by Census. It ranked No. 149 for the last full year with a total value of $1.91 billion, a $17.08 million, 0.88 percent decrease from the 2016 total.

Through December of this year the top trade partners were No. 1 Canada, No. 2 Mexico, No. 3 South Korea, No. 4 Japan and No. 5 Philippines.   • U.S. exports to No. 3 South Korea decreased $7.04 million, 14.17 percent, (2.15 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports to No. 4 Japan decreased $1.62 million, 4.1 percent, (1.91 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports to No. 5 Philippines increased $3.28 million, 10.7 percent, (1.71 percent of all shipments).
