U.S. exports of Dishwashers and other cleaning machinery decreased 13.82 percent from $199.1 million to $171.58 million through the first two months of 2019 when compared to the same period the previous year, according to WorldCity analysis of the latest U.S. Census Bureau data.

The category ranked 235 through February among the roughly 1,265 export commodity groupings as classified by Census. It ranked No. 216 for the last full year with a total value of $1.27 billion, a $105.5 million, 9.05 percent increase from the 2017 total.

Through February of this year the top trade partners were No. 1 Canada, No. 2 Mexico, No. 3 Germany, No. 4 United Kingdom and No. 5 Brazil.   • Port Laredo fell 46.91 percent compared to last year to $12.42 million.
  • Port Huron Blue Water Bridge, Mich. fell 34.43 percent compared to last year to $8.6 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign markets:

  • U.S. exports to No. 1 Canada decreased $3.07 million, 4.18 percent, (41.04 percent of all shipments).
  • U.S. exports to No. 2 Mexico decreased $15.05 million, 39.81 percent, (13.26 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports to No. 3 Germany increased $2.01 million, 53.2 percent, (3.37 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports to No. 4 United Kingdom decreased $4.55 million, 46.16 percent, (3.09 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports to No. 5 Brazil increased $222,007, 4.5 percent, (3 percent of all shipments).

All totaled, 63.77 percent of all these Dishwashers and other cleaning machinery exports from the United States were shipped to the top five markets through February of this year. That is equal to $109.41 million of the $171.58 million total.
