The category ranked 206 through May among the roughly 1,265 export commodity groupings as classified by Census. It ranked No. 231 for the last full year with a total value of $1.17 billion, a $105.69 million, 8.31 percent decreased from the 2018 total.

Through May of this year the leading sources were No. 1 Canada, No. 2 Mexico, No. 3 China, No. 4 United Kingdom and No. 5 Germany.   • Port Huron Blue Water Bridge, Mich. rose 12.65 percent compared to last year to $29.32 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign markets:

  • U.S. exports from No. 1 Canada increased $7.89 million, 1.62 percent, (104.2 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports from No. 2 Mexico decreased $53.46 million, 25.89 percent, (32.19 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports from No. 3 China decreased $7.19 million, 14.84 percent, (8.68 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports from No. 4 United Kingdom decreased $6.53 million, 14.38 percent, (8.17 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports from No. 5 Germany decreased $9.51 million, 19.93 percent, (8.03 percent market share).

All totaled, 65.8 percent of all these Dishwashers and other cleaning machinery exports from the United States were shipped from the top five markets through May of this year. That is equal to $766.86 million of the $1.17 billion total.
