U.S. exports of Firearms other than handguns increased 3.98 percent from $26.14 million to $27.18 million through the first seven months of 2020 when compared to the same period the previous year, according to WorldCity analysis of the latest U.S. Census Bureau data.

The category ranked 833 through July among the roughly 1,265 export commodity groupings as classified by Census. It ranked No. 873 for the last full year with a total value of $44.93 million, a $1.7 million, 3.93 percent increase from the 2018 total.

Through July of this year the leading sources were No. 1 Canada, No. 2 United Kingdom, No. 3 Taiwan, No. 4 Germany and No. 5 Mexico. The leading gateways were No. 1 Port of New York, No. 2 Detroit Ambassador Bridge, Mich., No. 3 Los Angeles International Airport, No. 4 Buffalo Peace Bridge, NY and No. 5 Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

In the last previous full year, the leading sources were No. 1 Canada, No. 2 Taiwan, No. 3 United Kingdom, No. 4 Germany and No. 5 France. The leading gateways were No. 1 Port of New York, No. 2 Chicago O’Hare International Airport, No. 3 Los Angeles International Airport, No. 4 Detroit Ambassador Bridge, Mich. and No. 5 Low-Valued Imports and Exports.

  • U.S. exports to No. 2 United Kingdom increased $520,838, 29.66 percent, (8.38 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports to No. 3 Taiwan decreased $812,065, 38.84 percent, (4.7 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports to No. 4 Germany decreased $484,458, 28.21 percent, (4.54 percent market share).
  • U.S. exports to No. 5 Mexico increased $287,274, 33.33 percent, (4.23 percent market share).
