  • Port Laredo rose 10.77 percent compared to last year to $41.94 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign markets:

  • U.S. imports from No. 1 China increased $63.73 million, 11.77 percent, (53.84 percent of all shipments).
  • U.S. imports from No. 2 Taiwan increased $9.82 million, 5.16 percent, (17.81 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 3 Mexico increased $7.8 million, 14.08 percent, (5.62 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 4 Germany increased $5.92 million, 16.21 percent, (3.77 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 5 India increased $4.63 million, 14.19 percent, (3.32 percent of all shipments).

All totaled, 84.36 percent of all these Misc. handtools, blow torches, anvils imports to the United States were shipped from the top five markets through October of this year. That is equal to $948.48 million of the $1.12 billion total.
